An impressive museum with some of the best and most important art collections in Germany, the Stadel Museum is definitely one of the best museums to visit here in Frankfurt. The Stadel was founded by Johann Friedrich Stadel in the year 1815, and has about 3000 paintings, 600 sculptures, and more than 100,000 drawings and graphic designs. The Stadel Museum is a place where the focus is kept on collecting and conserving, also scholarly research, and so on. Here visitors can find some masterpieces by Holbein, Cranach, Botticelli, Dürer, Rembrandt and Vermeer. You can also find paintings from the 19th and 20th century by Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Max Beckmann, and also Pablo Picasso and Otto Dix.
