Brought to you by the owners of The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Marina Bay Sands lays the luxe on thick. Broadway show 'The Lion King' made its Southeast Asian debut at the mega-resort's Sands Theatre, and visiting international acts including Kylie Minogue and Lady Gaga have taken centre stage at the Grand Theatre. Of course, there's a casino—two, actually, though it'll cost you a sultan's ransom to enter.

The crowning glory of the magnificent three-tiered complex is the rooftop Skypark complete with a giant pool and swaying palms. Unfortunately, only hotel guests are permitted to take a dip, but views from the observation deck are well worth the pilgrimage.
