Shoppers will be delighted with Zagreb’s offerings and I am not even talking about brands and high street fashion, though there’s plenty of that as well. Rather, the city has a plethora of markets that sells fresh produce and an array of things that are very trendy. The most popular place, even just to see, is the Dolac Market, dating back to the early part of the last century. It comprises both open and closed sections and is open from very early in the morning till late in the afternoon. You can wander amidst rows and rows of fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, cheeses, herbs, spices, oil, bread, meat, fish and even crafts and souvenirs. There are also coffee shops, delis and much more. For those who love browsing through antiques, there is an antique flea market at Britanski trg (British Square), which takes visitors back in time with its lovely antique artefacts, crockery, furniture, vintage clothes and even Socialist memorabilia.
