Anyone associated with theatre or dramatics would tell you that this is the place to be if you’re keen on catching up with the scene. Built by Bollywood veteran Shashi Kapoor in memory of his father Prithviraj Kapoor in 1978, this place has hosted theatrical performances catering to a diverse audience. From children’s plays to Shakespeare adaptations, from monologues to sketch comedy, there’s something for everyone. But a secret about this place is that it has a quaint coffee shop in the premises that serves delicious local and continental snacks, steaming coffee and tea and gives you just the kind of seclusion that’s ideal to get lost in a book. While a majority of its patrons either belong to theatre or are trying to grab a quick coffee before/ between a show, it has also become a popular hangout for college students who’re often seen here glued to their laptops, working on projects. If you’re in the mood for the cuppa, we’d recommend the Irish Coffee which is a specialty here.
