Winding down just below Mussoorie’s Mall road, the Tibetan Market is a good place to shop for cheap clothes, electronics, shawls, wall hangings and other nondescript knick-knacks. Comprising of tiny stalls crammed together, this is where you need to put your bargaining skills to use—haggling is the only way to go. Sift through the piles, and you’ll be surprised by some of the stuff you’ll find—which can be anything from a pair of warm flannel pyjamas or a pretty embroidered shirt, to a toy car fitted with neon lights or even a beautifully crafted lapis string. The stalls stretch for about a kilometre and wrap up before dark, so make sure you get there while the sun’s still out.
