Parc de la Ciutadella

A lush and beautiful park, home to the Catalan Parliament and the Zoo
Word to the wise: Between June and September the park hosts free evening jazz concerts.

Built in the late 19th century as one of the first parks in the city, Parc de la Ciutadella has remained popular with locals and visitors alike due to its winding pathways, museums, cultural activities and beautiful natural surroundings.
The 70-acre space is also home to one of the biggest zoos in Europe, made famous by the albino gorilla Snowflake. The park is always buzzing with activity; there are museums to visit, fountains in which to make wishes and a lake where you can rent a boat.
