In the heart of French Quarters on Decatur Street, amidst the noise and chaos of street performers, buskers and busy traffic, Palm Court Jazz Café is like an island of pure musical serenity. Located inside an early 19th century building with a chequered history, the nearly 30-year old establishment has live traditional jazz combined with delicious Creole dishes. The cafe cum bar has an old world New Orleans feel to it, with mosaic tile floor, high ceilings, and wooden bar. But its appeal comes largely from the music and a different band playing every night, including such ones as Sunday Night Swingsters, and Crescent City Joymakers, though none more popular than the in-house, Palm Court Jazz Café jazz band.
