Direct flights to Thailand from Guwahati will start from this year, which will make it easier for the people from North East to visit Thailand. To further boost tourism, from May 3rd, a 3-day Northeast India Festival will also be held for the first time in Bangkok.
Thailand is taking steps to position itself as the most favoured destination for Indian tourists. For this, direct flights to Bangkok are being introduced from tier 2 and tier 3 cities like Jaipur, Chandigarh and Bhubaneshwar. At the same time Thai Tourism is working towards presenting Thailand to Indian tourists as a destination for weddings, golfing, honeymoon, and family holidays.
Special events such as a Wedding Mart and Luxury Roadshow at New Delhi and Mumbai will be held in April, ASEAN Tourism Forum will be held from January 31 to February 2, and a tourism roadshow will take place in Jaipur and Kolkata in June.
