Situated near Kannur in north Kerala, this is the only drive-in beach in the state. Surrounded by black rocks, the beach is protected from strong ocean currents, making its shallow waters ideal for swimming. Its chief attraction is that visitors can drive vehicles on its four-km-long stretch. It also has facilities for paragliding, parasailing, microlight flights, boating, and other water sports. The restaurants in the surrounding area offer delicious Malabari food. The beach also hosts an annual festival in the month of April, which includes a series of cultural events.
