This comes as a good news for travellers as during most of the time during winters, the Srinagar-Leh national highway remains closed due to the accumulation of snow and slippery road conditions. As per the latest news reports, the Darcha-Padum link will be improved and widened further by next summer, when work on the roads will resume again.
