The biggest waves hit Maldivian shores from June through August, and the Atoll of Male is a perennial favourite with surfers. Sultans in north Male offers a consistent reef wave, but the rocks here can be a hazard and is not recommended for novices. Pasta Point is another popular spot, offering both left-hand rides and about 100 metres of pure tube riding out to sea.
