Langkawi is a shoppers’ paradise. In fact, it isn’t the idyllic forests or the pristine beaches that attract most tourists to the island. It is the shopping. This is because Langkawi is a haven of duty-free shopping. Everything from alcohol and cigarettes to designer sunglasses and gourmet chocolates is available at duty-free prices here. Tourists throng the malls of Langkawi to shop for goods at unbeatable prices. There are over a dozen malls and shopping complexes on the island but none better than Langkawi Parade Megamall. This mall, as the name suggests, is truly extra large. It has over 40 duty-free retail, food, and entertainment outlets and offers something for everyone. There is a large food court that serves delectable Malaysian and continental food. The food court has a variety of stalls, enough to keep people of all age groups satisfied. As for shopping, you can get every brand under the sun. Everything from Billabong jerseys to GAP sunglasses seduces tourists into parting with hard-earned cash. There are ATMs within the mall itself in case you run out of money, a distinct possibility when there are so many things to blow it up on.
