If this has you hooked, here are more details of this great rendezvous between art and culture.
What to expect?
The biennale would bring about a slew of talks, conferences, workshops, educational programmes, and some of the most brilliant exhibits. Artwork by children, music programmes, and intensive workshops (some are even month-long) are some major highlights of the event this year.
An auction will be held on January 18, 2018, and is aimed at aiding the relief work for the recent floods in Kerala. The said auction, aptly titled Art Rises for Kerala (ARK), promises to put some amazing work from the world of contemporary and modern art on the table.
Artists and the curator
Anita Dube, an eminent name in the world of art, would be turning curator for the 2018 edition of Kochi-Muziris Biennale. She is famously known for her artwork, especially work driven by politics. She is expected to bring a new wave of diverse works and energy to the much-acclaimed event.
A very impressive line-up of more than 90 artists from India and all around the world is ready with the best of their works for the biennale. Expect a lot of learning and good times with names as alluring as Leandro Feal, Vicky Roy, Zanele Muholi, Mónica Mayer, Mireille Kassar, Leandro Feal, Juul Kraijer, Thomas Hirschhorn and many more.
Venue
All the venues would be open to visitors from 10 AM to 6 PM every day of the event. Entry to the Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2018 is free for all on Mondays, and tickets can be sought for a paltry INR 100 per person on other days.
