The Senckenberg Museum of Natural History

If you are a natural history fan, then head right towards the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History. Sparking interest of old and young alike, it is a nice place to be immersed, visiting a world unknown to us!
The second largest natural history museum in Germany, you would be excited to know it has the largest exhibition of large dinosaurs in Europe. Not only this, it also has the largest collection of stuffed birds with around 2000 specimens in the house. There is a lot in store for young imaginative minds here! One particularly fascinating specimen is that of a dinosaur fossil with its unique scaled skin.
Outside the museum, you can see larger creations of dinosaurs, welcoming you into their world. You can also follow the tracks of the dinosaur Titanosaurus, imprinted on floor. They lead to its skeleton on a patio.

Although dinosaurs are the main attractions of this museum, not far behind are animal species. There are specimens from Messel pit including mice, fish, reptiles, and even a predecessor to the current times, the horse. It lived millions of years ago and had a height of less than 60 cm. On public holidays as well as on Saturday and Sunday, the museum is open until 6 pm, starting from 9 am. If you want to spend more time, you can go on Wednesday, when the museum is open until 8 pm. The entrance fee is EUR 8.
