Spread over 22 square kilometres, this wildlife park is one of the most amusing attractions for those travelling with kids to Phuket. The park protects a number of wild animals—langurs, slow lorises, barking deer, mouse deer, deer, bears, tusked hairy wild boar, malay sun bear, wild boar, monkeys, gibbons, porcupines, palm civets and many species of birds. You may also choose to hike to Ton Sai or Bang Pae waterfalls that are located in the park. There is also a small museum and information centre, and a floating restaurant in the mangroves, inside the Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Park. Ideal for a day hike, the park welcomes travellers throughout the year, tours of which can also be booked in advance.
