The UNESCO World Heritage Site Kaziranga National Park will now remain open for tourists till May 31. As per the latest news release, the park was supposed to close for visitors from May 21, which has now been extended for further 10 days.
Akashdeep Barua, Kaziranga National Park Director, has informed the press about this decision of extending the date of sightseeing in the national park. As per the official reports released earlier by the Rohini Ballav Saikia, Kaziranga National Park DO, it was announced that the park would close with effect from May 21, 2018.
Reportedly, now the park will remain closed for visitors till October 31, 2018. Kaziranga National Park, generally, with the arrival of summer every year, shuts its gates for visitors.
Best time to visit Kaziranga National Park
November to April is the best time to visit the park.
Summer (April to May) – You will be able to spot animals during this season as the climate remains dry and windy.
Monsoon (June to September) – During this time, the region receives heavy rain and because of warnings of Brahmaputra river floods, the national park remains closed from May to October.
Winter (November to February) – This is likely the best time to plan your visit to the national park. Your chances of spotting the rhinos will be high during this time as the terrain becomes clear due to burning down of bushes
