It is a gorgeous downhill trek of around 9 km from Mukteshwar through a beautiful oak, pine and rhododendron laden forest. It is an amazingly beautiful trek and best time to visit is during the months of March and April when red rhododendrons bloom. And don’t get disheartened if you don’t want to trek that long, it can also be reached on road. Around 45 minutes’ drive from Mukteshwar and then a downhill trek of around a kilometre will lead you to Kapileshwar Temple. It is an ancient temple dedicated to lord Shiva and is said to be constructed by Katyura kings around 8th -10th century. This secluded temple is situated on the confluence of Kumiya and Sakuni rivers. If you are of an adventurous kind do take your camping gear and spend night camping by the riverside.
