Indian Railways to operate 52 summer special trains in Eastern India

Eastern Railways – one of the arms of the Indian Railways – lately revealed its plan to run 52 weekly summer special trains on two routes. The idea behind this initiative is to manage the huge number of passengers expected to travel this summer.

The summer special trains will operate on Sealdah (Kolkata) – Ananda Vihar (West Bengal) and Bhagalpur (Bihar) – Muzaffarpur (Bihar) routes every Saturday starting from April 7. “26 weekly summer special Trains will run between Sealdah and Ananda Vihar (via Dankuni) leaving Sealdah on every Saturday between April 7 & June 30, 2018 and Ananda Vihar on every Sunday between April 8 & July 01, 2018,” a press release issued by the Eastern Railways stated.
Train number 02265 will depart from Sealdah in Kolkata at 12.55 PM and arrive at Ananda Vihar at 01.45 PM, the following afternoon. The return train number 02266 will leave Ananda Vihar at 06.45 PM and reach Sealdah at 07.40 PM the next day.

The summer special train list comprises 26 more trains that will operate between Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur. The trains will depart from Bhagalpur on Mondays from April 2 to June 25, 2018. And from Muzaffarpur, the trains will depart on Tuesdays from April 3 and June 26, 2018.
The train number 03453 will depart from Bhagalpur at 9.00 PM and reach its destination Muzaffarpur at 4.00 AM on Day 2. “The down train 03454 will leave Muzaffarpur at 07.25 AM and reach Bhagalpur at 01.45 PM the same day,” as declared by the Eastern Railways in its press statement.
