According to Sudhanshu Mani, GM, ICF, Train 18 will replace the Shatabdi trains, while Train 20 will be introduced in place of the Rajdhani Express trains.

While Gatimaan Express runs at a speed of 160 kmph, these new upcoming trains have clocked 176 kmph on the speedometer, revealed Mani. But then, when these trains are operational, they would be run at a maximum speed of 170 kmph.
It is not just the speed, but all the design elements and passenger amenities that are being improved in these two trains. The new steel coaches of these trains will be home to new and improved passenger amenities including LED TV screens, GPS, and diffuse lighting system among other things. The biggest highlight among the new safety features in these trains would be the ‘Automatic Plug-Type’ doors which will open and close automatically at the stations.
