On the fateful morning of 6th August 1945, the city of Hiroshima woke to what would go down in history as the worst form of destruction known to mankind. An atomic bomb called ‘Little Boy’ was dropped over the city by the United States in order to force Japan to surrender during the Second World War. More than 80,000 people perished immediately after the explosion whereas approximately 30,000 were critically injured. The after-effect of the bombing lived on for years, killing several thousands and continues to show even to this date.
