This is a branch of the museum of Hermitage Museum of Saint Petersburg, Russia and is situated on the banks of River Amstel. There are several exhibitions on and off throughout the year. Some of the notable ones are the Spanish Masters from the Hermitage, Portrait Gallery of the Golden Age and the Outsider Art Museum. The latter houses a collection of contemporary art from outside the country and it's the first time ever that the Netherlands has hosted a collection of art that does not contribute to their own history. There is also a restaurant and a reading room in the complex. The reading room is where visitors can browse through an array of books related to the Hermitage, Spanish Art, and other such themes, while documentaries are also shown on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays between 1 PM to 5 PM. The Hermitage Amsterdam is open from 10 AM to 5 PM.
