India’s first transport museum promises to impress more than just automobile enthusiasts with its treasure trove of vintage cars, buses, two wheelers and trains. Spread over 90,000 square feet, the four-storey museum houses themed exhibition galleries, a library, a mini auditorium, a souvenir shop and a restaurant. Its highlights include a restored railway saloon from the 1930s, a vintage petrol pump, and sections on colourful truck art and the role of cars in Bollywood. There also interesting galleries on Indian transport toys, maritime and aviation history, contemporary and tribal art on the theme of transportation; as well as old photographs, stamps, advertisements and memorabilia.
