Guwahati might be the first city to get international flight under UDAN scheme

Very soon, you will be able to fly to Dhaka from Guwahati. And this is likely to happen under the Centre’s affordable UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, thereby making your international flight all the more cost-effective. With the centre making efforts to finalise bids for the Guwahati-Bangkok and Guwahati-Dhaka routes, Guwahati is likely to become the first city to start operating international flights under the said regional connectivity scheme, i.e., UDAN.
As per the latest news reports, the Assam Government under the UDAN scheme might provide a subsidy of INR 2370 AND 4400 for a certain number of seats on the said international flights operating on the Guwahati-Bangkok and Guwahati-Dhaka routes. As per a senior official from the Aviation Ministry, Assam, Guwahati has required funds that make it eligible to operate international flights. The official also mentioned that the Assam Government has already started placing bids for all destinations as it is very keen on starting the international flights. The latest reports state that Assam has proposed international connectivity in subsidised rates under UDAN scheme from Guwahati to six destinations—Dhaka in Bangladesh, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Kathmandu in Nepal, and Bangkok in Thailand.
And as per rules of using the UDAN scheme for the international version, the state will be providing the subsidy instead of the central government. Also, under this international scheme, no particular airline company will be offered exclusivity over any route under the UDAN scheme.
