Gurten

Bern’s very own local mountain, Gurten is over 860 m above sea level and can be reached by train or by foot. A lot of people come here to spend some quality time with their families, and so this happens to be a hot favourite among children. There is a playground and also a miniature railway that would surely catch the fancy to children. If you get hungry, then look toward Gurten’s two restaurants, Tapis Rouge and Bel Etage, to help you fill your hunger. You can also get adventurous by choosing to prepare your own meal on one of the park’s barbecue grills. You have a lot of cultural programmes and festivals here from time to time so keep an eye out.
