Shirdi Airport will soon get a new baggage handling system which will be installed by airport operator Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC). Steps have been taken to cater to more devotees and passengers visiting Shirdi. Each year, the revered city of Shirdi is visited by a large number of devotees, and with the introduction of an airport, the place is receiving more traffic. In order to control this, MADC will be installing baggage handling system for which it has rolled out the tender process. A pre-bid meet is supposed to take place on 27th November.

MADC has invited an e-tender for supplying, installation, testing and commissioning for the baggage handling on the Shirdi Airport. As of now, only two flights are operational from Shirdi Airport; Alliance Air (a subsidiary of Air India) is running flights from Shirdi to Mumbai and Hyderabad daily. According to the airport operator, the pre-bid meeting has invited all probable bidders in Mumbai to bid, discuss and make suggestions. Mr. Suresh Kakani also mentioned that this procedure of bidding will be concluded most probably by the end of this year.
