Jageshwar is a popular pilgrimage, and is just an hour’s drive away from Binsar. The Golu Devta Temple, a popular one on this route, is a nice little temple to take a break. Set amidst the pine trees, it offers beautiful frames for the photography enthusiasts. The road further snakes its way through forest, hills and valleys to Jageshwar. Located in a valley, Jageshwar temple complex is a protected monument with exquisite architecture. Featuring 100 shrines, the temple receives hordes of visitors seeking blessings throughout the year. Dating to the 9th century, the temples are located in the Jataganga river valley. The temples which are under the Archaeological Survey of India have more than 25 inscriptions which date to between the 7th and 9th century. The most popular temples at Jageshwar are Jageshwar Mahadev, Sri Mahamritunjaya Mahadev, Jhanker Sham Mahadev, Kot Ling Mahadev, Dandeshwar Shiv temple complex etc. There is also an archaeological museum by ASI which has numerous idols and sculptures dating between the 9th and 12th century. It is also home to one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. There are numerous food stalls near the complex where one can enjoy the local kumaoni delicacies.
