Scotland has come up with an exciting new cycling route that presents the very best of this world. By that we mean whisky, castles, and poetry. If you are a fan of Robert Burns’ poems, and have been an avid whiskey lover, this is perhaps a good time to take up cycling. The new cycling route is being called The Whisky and Burns Cycling Tour, and it runs for a total of 135 km, and takes you through enchanting country roads. On your way, you will come across old-world castles, and learn all about the country’s famous whiskies, culture, and of course Robert Burns.
The tour will take you to one of Scotland’s famous distilleries, the Annandale Distillery, and also to Caerlaverock Castle that was built back in the 13th century. The triangular castle is a historic beauty that you cannot miss. After this, the time comes to follow in Robert Burns’ footsteps. This will lead you to the Globe Inn, and the Robert Burns Centre. You can also see Moat Brae; 12 Apostles stone circle; Morton and Drumlanrig castles, and more.
If you are from out of town, then your luggage will be transported by the tour firm, and you will also be provided with bikes for the tour. It starts at $570 per person, and includes accommodation, luggage transfer, and transport to the nearest train station.
