As of now, motorists used to pay a collective toll fee for to and fro airport journeys, but now the National Highways Authority of India has passed a decree stating that motorists will have to pay toll for both the directions.
Till date, people had to pay a toll of INR 120 only while returning to the city from the airport (one-way toll). The government has now made the day passes available for INR 125 while for one-way pass, commuters will have to pay INR 80.

National Highways Authority of India’s Regional Officer Mr. YV Prasad Reddy mentioned that they are now going to take toll now for both the sides as the state government has now completed an alternate road. He also said that they are not expecting many vehicles to return on the same route with commuters having the option of a toll-free road now.
Mr. Reddy also assured that there won’t be any traffic jams now leading to the airport because of this move. Now that the toll is being charged on both the sides, commuters are most likely to take the toll-free routes to the city.
The new toll is all set to begin from today midnight and is expected to curb the heavy traffic situation in the city of Bengaluru.
