Hang gliding doesn’t require a tall peak or a running start. And if you’re going to hang glide, why not do it over Lake Tahoe, one of the most beautiful lakes in the U.S.? Fly over the peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains and Lake Tahoe’s pristine blue waters with Hang Gliding Tahoe. Flights leave from the Carson City Airport, about 50 kilometers from North or South Lake Tahoe. Be sure to bundle up, because, the glider may have an engine, but it doesn't have any doors (it is hang gliding, after all). Winter flying rewards passengers with views of the snowcapped Sierra Nevadas.
