We give you two situations; choose one or both if you happen to fit into them like a lost piece of a puzzle! First situation, you drive to your office daily which is some 20 km away from you house and it takes you around 1.5 hours, thanks to heavy traffic. Second, you live on the 10th or above floor in your residential apartment and one fine day the elevators decide to break down, leaving you with the sole option of taking the stairs.
Aged 37, Anshu Jamsenpa has made her way into the Guinness World Records with this apparently superhuman feat. The previous record was held by Nepali climber Chhurim Sherpa who scaled the peak twice in a season back in 2012. But climbing it up twice in a week is simply ridiculous! At 8,848 m, Mount Everest is one of the toughest terrains on the Earth and is a test not only for your physical fitness but also of will power and mental strength.
Before this twin ascent, Anshu has scaled the Everest thrice before. In 2011, she completed her first double ascent in 10 days and then again a single climb in 2013. The mother of two took the blessing of spiritual leader Dalai Lama when he visited her home state Arunachal Pradesh back in April 2017. She wanted to carry on with her love affair with Everest in 2014 and 2015 as well, but due to serious avalanches and Nepal earthquake, her expeditions never took off.
Anshu Jamsenpa is now three climbs away to come at par with Nepali climber Lhakpa Sherpa, who holds the record of highest number of summits by a woman. Do we hear another record breaking already?
