Chennai’s film industry rivals that of Mumbai. AVM Studios, one of the oldest studios in India and is located in Vadapalani. Having produced of blockbusters like Sivaji, they also organise film tours for the public. AVM is the oldest surviving studio in India. Besides Tamil they have produced many films inTollywood and Kollywood, and have even introduced numerous actors in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, some of the prominent ones being Vyjayanthimala, Sivaji Ganesan, S. S. Rajendran and Kamal Haasan. Visitors can see the film sets and even catch a shooting.
