February is when winter slowly starts to dissipate and we can finally start to travel leaving most of the warm layers behind. Lucky for us, there are some really exciting cultural festivals we can be a part of in February. This means travel to places far and near, and it’s just what we love.

Kala Ghoda Festival, Maharashtra
Head to Mumbai for the annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (February 4-12). This is India’s largest multicultural festival. Being a part of such a large-scale festival will definitely be a memorable experience.
Surajkund Crafts Mela, Haryana
For this, you will have to travel to Surajkund in Faridabad district, Haryana. The annual craft fair will be held from February 4 to 20. This is one of the best places to experience India’s rich and vibrant folk traditions and cultural heritage.
Elephanta Festival, Maharashtra
Post Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, stick around for the Elephanta Festival (February 13-15) which will be held at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Elephanta Caves in Elephanta Island in Mumbai. The cultural festival is organised in order to promote tourism and culture in Mumbai.
Taj Mahotsav, Uttar Pradesh
Head to Agra for this 10-day annual festival. Every year February 18-27, the Taj Mahotsav is celebrated in appreciation of India’s rich cultural heritage. Make the most of the time to enjoy the timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal.
Sekrenyi, Nagaland
The annual festival Sekrenyi is observed for 10 days, usually starting from February 25. The festival is celebrated by the Angami Nagas of Nagaland. As per the traditional beliefs and rituals, this 10-day period is used to purify oneself of past sins. You can witness several traditional shows and rituals during this festival. One can say that for Angamis, this festival period truly marks the start of a new year.
