The second of its kind (after the INA one), Dilli Haat Pitampura is yet another cultural landmark of the city, which beautifully juxtaposes ethnicity and modernity. Spanning across acres of land, the venue enjoys a very prominent location, right besides the soaring TV Tower and just adjacent to Netaji Subhash Metro Station (Red Line). A hangout zone for youngsters, kids and the elderly, Dilli Haat organises many events (street plays, festivals) throughout the year, of which the mango festival in summers is the most revered one. Check the schedule on its official website before visiting. The venue is also an ideal shopping destination for those who wish to pick up some impressive pieces of art and craft, reflecting the uniqueness, style and language of different states of India. While the Rajasthani footwear is a favoured pick here, the Kashmiri rugs are appreciated too. Marvel on exquisite handicrafts, or pick up some of the finest furniture pieces while you’re here. The complex is complete with its own food court, where you can gorge on Delhi’s famous street eats (gol gappas, pav bhaji, chaats, etc). The centrally located amphitheatre not only is attraction for event organisers but also provides a beautiful symmetry to the precinct. With a very nominal fee, and open during daytime, this Dilli Haat is an entertaining landmark for North West Delhi crowds.
