No trip to Budapest is complete without taking a dip into one of its thermal baths. Known as City of Spas, Budapest is blessed with hot water springs underneath. These thermal springs are rich in calcium, magnesium, sulphate, florides and bicarbonates. These minerals and elements have medicinal properties and known to cure chronic arthritis, degenerative changes, joint inflammations and other orthopaedic conditions. The naturally heated water temperature varies from 27 degrees to 40 degrees. There are many baths created around the hot springs and Szechenyi Bath is one of the most popular ones in Budapest. It is the largest medicinal bath in Europe. Created in baroque style, the yellow building of Szechenyi Bath is a major tourist attraction. Besides its therapeutic healing waters, Szechenyi Bath is a well known place to hang out and spend a day at leisure in one of its many pools. With a Day ticket you can spend few hours lounging in various indoor and outdoor pools. There are sauna and steam rooms all over the place. One can also opt for aqua fitness classes. It is fun to visit Szechenyi Bath in winter and enjoy the luxury and warmth of these natural hot springs. Do not forget to carry towels, sunglasses and sunscreens to make your experience a true pleasure.
