Travelling across the world is evolving in the times of the pandemic Coronavirus. The world is embracing measures to observe social distancing rules even after air travel restarts in the coming days. One such place in India that has invented a novel system to maintain social distance between passengers and the airport staff is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad.
At the airport entry gate, passengers shall no longer be asked to show their flight ticket and photo ID to a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) staff for verification. Instead, passengers will be asked to show their identity proof and ticket onto a HD camera that will be installed at every departure gate of the airport.
Next, the CISF Personnel will check the documents from a new-age computer, to be installed away from the passengers. After the verification of the documents, passengers will be given the nod of approval to enter the airport for check-in and other security.
As part of the safety measures, the airport has installed thermal cameras at every departure gate to screen the temperature of the passengers in a subtle way. Any passenger identified to have high body temperature will be barred from entering airport premises by the concerned airport authorities.
News also has it that the check-in counters will be equipped with acrylic shields, and will be placed in a manner that passengers will have to get their boarding cards and baggage tags on their own.
