This is one of the most under-valued experiences in the city, but a must-do all the same. Take a tour of Chinatown Heritage Centre, and get a peek into Singapore's history dating back to the early 19th century. Entire sets of bedrooms, kitchens and street scenes from the time have been accurately depicted to give an authentic experience of life before we knew it. Here, you can relive the lives of the early Chinese migrants and learn more about the Chinese culture and history in Singapore. Recreating the original interiors of its tenants in the 1950s, the centre offers a glimpse into the lives of Chinatown’s early residents. Grab a souvenir from the gift shop on your way out.
