If you call yourself a gastronomist, no trip to Phuket is complete without visiting the Talad Kaset Night Market. This food paradise can be found behind the ever so popular Robinson Department Store and is supposed to be the largest night market on the island. With sumptuous Thai and Chinese staples like dim sums and fried chicken along with tangy rice preparations, perfectly-cooked noodles, heart-warming soups and spicy seafood, Talad Kaset is an enticing address. The fare available here is laden with local ingredients like coconuts, lotus seeds, sweet potato, soybean, corn, bananas, taro and sugarcane, and compels visitors to ask for second helpings. The prices, as expected of street food stalls, are very reasonable. In fact, you will not have to spend anything above 150 Baht for a heavy meal!
