Canal Tours

Save your feet and see beautiful Stockholm from the water
Word to the wise: Get away from the tourist attractions and take the Under the Bridges Tour; you'll see city suburbs and go through the two biggest locks connecting Lake Malaren and the Baltic.
There are at least half a dozen different boat rides around Stockholm, and all of them offer a relaxing ride and pretty incredible views of the city.
The Royal Canal Tour takes you around the island of Djurgården and shows you the greener parts of the city. You'll see enormous mansions, some popular landmarks and the most beautiful parkland in the city.
The Historical Canal Tour, which departs from City Hall and takes you around the largest island of Kungsholmen, is chock full of history about the city and how the landscape has changed over the years.

If you've planned your trip in winter, fear not. There is a lovely Winter Tour that takes you through the unfrozen main waterways and around the island of Fjäderholmarna, just past Djurgården. You can even buy some glögg, a hot Swedish mulled wine, to warm up.
