The best way to see the delta is by a small boat, which allows bird spotters to approach birds slowly and stealthily. In addition to the enormous bird population, the Danube Delta is home to muskrats, beavers, wolves, raccoon dogs and European mink. There are also numerous species of tortoise, snakes and lizards.
