The best way to see Gokarna is by trekking, besides main beach there are other beaches including Kudle Beach, Om Beach, Half Moon Beach and Paradise Beach. Couple of those beaches are only accessible either by a boat/catamaran or by foot. These beaches are geographically only a couple of kilometres away from each other, and are separated by tiny hillocks across which the trail runs. The main beach of Gokarana near Mahabaleshwar Temple is the northern most beach from where one can take the trail south to Kudle Beach. Kudle Beach has numerous cafes and is one of the popular beaches on this circuit. The trail from Kudle over a few rocky stretches leads to the very popular Om Beach, which is well known for its Om shape, jutting rocks, numerous cafes and a long stretch of sand. A narrow path from the other end of Om Beach takes you over hills with the expansive Arabian Sea for accompaniment. The vistas are breathtaking all the way and Om Beach looks all the more gorgeous from a distance. A lone coconut tree jutting from a hillock is a popular vantage point enroute. The turquoise blue sea and the dark green hills make the landscape a photographer’s and a nature lover’s delight. The trail ends at Half Moon Beach, a tiny beach which is otherwise accessible only by a boat. Paradise beach is the last beach on the trail which is further south of Half Moon Beach.
