The winter festivals in Calgary certainly know how to celebrate the fluffy white stuff. From maple syrup on a stick to snowshoe rally, they’ve got you covered in terms of things to keep your body moving and mind happy. Heritage Park runs their winter festival in December and they happen to run it indoors at the Gasoline Alley Museum where there are a number of games, activities and challenges available for you. Try your hand at designing your own ice cleaning dream machine, harnessing up your own racing dog or collecting all the things needed to hit the cold and icy road. The Fort Calgary Winter Festival, on the other hand, takes place outside and celebrates the wintertime through carnival games, crafts and special shows. Free hay rides, family lunch and maple syrup on a stick are all a part of this fun festival, just make sure to bundle up! There is an abundance of weekend events that happen all over the city during the winter and whatever neighbourhood you visit, expect to see something happening.
