Ban Nam Phueng Floating Market

The ambitious foodie's dream market
Word to the wise: To get here, take the ferry from Wat Khlong Toei Nok to Bang Krachao. From there, it's a short tuk-tuk ride to the market.

Probably one of the most easily accessible floating markets in the city, Ban Nam Phueng gives a glimpse of traditional Thai life while avoiding most of the touristy clichés. Located in verdant Phra Phadaeng just south of the city centre, Ban Nam Phueng is an epicurean's delight, with vendors doling out a variety of cheap, delicious dishes and foodstuffs you're not likely to have tasted before (ever tried a fruit called fukow?).
A lot of the vendors are actually based on land but if you want to get a real taste for the water, boats can be rented by the hour for THB 20-40.
