If art is on your mind (yes, the one that does not burn a hole in your pocket), then you must check out the day-long art fair Chitra Santhe that happens in the last week of December/the first week of January. The best part of this event is that the things on display are affordable artworks, including drawings, paintings, graphic prints, miniature formats, sculptures and much more. The art fair showcases only original artwork and there are no reproductions such as digital prints, photographs and crafts/handicrafts exhibited. One can even get an on-the-spot portrait sketch made here.
With over 1000 stalls lining the entire stretch of Kumara Krupa Road, the workshops, talks and exhibitions make this a haven for art aficionados. Starting from around 8 am, the event goes on till 8 pm generally. Recently, the 13th successive annual art fair, organised by Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, was held on Kumara Krupa Road, featuring artists from all over the country. This event is an absolute must visit if you are in the Garden City of India. Moreover, there couldn’t be a better way to spend the day off as this art fair is always held on a Sunday!
