A Scandinavian shopping adventure in Bergen

Bergen is a beautiful wharf town with some nice shops, which aren’t just selling traditional items but have beautiful architectures and aesthetics. In fact, some of the shops aren’t less than a heritage site. Shopping in this town is going to be a real treat for you if you can shell out a significant portion of money from your budget. Mind you; it’s an expensive place as some things in Scandinavia are up to ten times expensive as compared to their counterparts in the rest of Europe.
Now, coming to the good part! I would like to tell very honestly that in my whole life, I haven’t enjoyed visiting more than a dozen stores like I did in Norway. The small alley to reach the shops in Bryggen, the refreshing smell of wooden floors and a super-friendly staff in every store keeps you recharged. The stores are full of cute authentic Norwegian souvenirs be it a Viking head, a rustic wine bottle, a miniature of Bryggen, postcards or some Christmas gifts. You will regret if you come back from Bergen without purchasing any woolen clothes. The long-tailed caps, scarfs, overcoats and sweaters aren’t just traditional and colorful, but the most comfortable, warm and adorable woolens I have ever tried. They are bound to take away your winter blues. At some places, you can also visit the workshops to witness the production process.
