Attend the Festival du Voyageur

This 10-day festival is really the highlight of winter in Winnipeg and is so worth attending that we suggest you plan your trip around it. Celebrating the French culture is the theme of this festival and it is dubbed as the largest winter festival in Western Canada. It is held in the French quarter of the city and there is plenty to see and do all festival long. Some of the things visitors can expect are historical interpretations, snow sculpting, traditional cuisine, snowshoe workshops, fiddling and jigging, arts and crafts workshops and plenty of vendors. Specialty themed nights are also a part of the festival and except everything from karaoke to singles night to board game night. Music is a huge part of the festival and draws artists in from all over Canada. One of the best parts about this festival is the affordability factor. For adults it is only $32 for a pass to the entire festival and it costs teens just $16, kids aged 5-11 only $11 and kids under the age of five get in for free.
