The release added that Air India also has plans to celebrate the International Women’s Day by organising creative and cultural events.
This is however not the first time that Air India has operated such a flight with all-women crew. It has a commendable history dating back to 1985, when it first created this milestone. In 1985, Captain Saudamini Deshmukh operated the first Air India flight with all female staff from Kolkata to Silchar.
The airline also claimed that in 2017 it created a world record by operating the longest ever all female crew flight around the world on the Delhi-San Franciso-Delhi route.
Last year, the national carrier also started an initiative for women passenger’s safety. Six front row seats are kept reserved for female passengers, which can be reserved without any additional cost.
