The century old Jaipur zoo will soon be converted into an aviary. A proposal with regard to this has been sent to the Central Zoo Authority of India (CZAI) IN Delhi. As per the news reports, the place will soon be home to various species of birds, where special enclosures will also be set up. Read less
After the approval of the proposal takes place, all the animals from the zoo will be transferred to Nahargarh Biological Park. In this regard, the zoo administration has sent layouts and designs for the zoo to the CZAI, which elaborates that around 25-30 enclosure will be built for housing the birds. Several species of birds will be brought from across the globe through exchange programs. And as per the plan, only broad taxonomical display of birds would remain in the current location of Jaipur zoo.
The JDA officials also informed that grasslands are being developed and old water bodies are revived to ensure lions adapt easily to Nahargarh Biological Park. Referring to lion safaris, the official sources stated caged vehicles will be used to ensure safety of tourists, and that only one vehicle will be permitted to travel in one direction.
