Third Fridays might be happening all year round, but my favorite time to go is when it’s warm. That’s because Bridgeport is a great place to bike, a neighborhood that mixes the residential working class vibe with the artsy scene. But regardless of how you get there, Third Fridays are one of the greatest Chicago art events. Every third Friday of the month, the neighborhood of Bridgeport opens its Bridgeport Art Center studios to the public. Wander from room to room through the studios of different artists, and check out their work and their wine. Every room has free cookies and snacks laid out to tempt patrons, and trust me, this works. Here you’ll meet interesting people and see great art in one of Chicago’s best art districts.
