Gold Museum

It’s time to dig some gold! Literally! Get inside gold mines or use a hand-strainer to pan the precious metal out of a miniature hand-made ‘river’. Learn about the prominent gold mines in South East Asia. See what a biscuit of pure gold looks like. See how big a wad of cash is required to buy a 12 kg brick and push your arm inside from the side of a special glass box to feel this precious metal. On the way up to their collections on first floor, be ready to throw a coin or a low-value currency note in the wishing trunk and use a permanent marker to write a message of prosperity for other visitors to read. This unique museum promises to dazzle you all the way through.
A knowledgeable museum staff will take you on a guided tour inside and explain the nuances of mining and processing of this yellow metal. Toward the end, after a ‘hard day of mining’, get ready to sit down in front of a goldsmith who demonstrates the making of a brick. Mind you though, they use silver for this slightly wasteful process.
