Till now, the SPV was available in the three Indian cities, i.e., Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. But now, with the addition of Pune and Bengaluru to the list, the total number of Indian cities in which the service is now available has gone up to five.
While the SPV applications are assessed with the same amount of scrutiny as all other applications, the only differences in this case is that the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) handles them with the highest amount of priority, with staff members dedicated for the purpose.
Sharing her thoughts on this expansion of the SPV service in India, Immigration Minister Caroline Nokes said, "I am pleased that the Super Priority Visa service is being extended to even more Indian cities, giving many more UK visa customers the opportunity to receive a visa decision in 24 hours or less if needed".
"India was the first country in the world to receive this service in 2013 and is once again leading the way as two more cities Pune and Bengaluru will receive this first class visa service" she added.
Nokes also said that this expansion is a clear indication of the kind of ties that India and the United Kingdom share at the moment.
